I wish we could learn and truly act out “never again.” Some countries like Israel are doing this with so much criticism and sometimes hatred from the west. However, who else is going to stand up against Islamic terror and especially when it repeatedly targets them in particular?
I watched an interview with a man called Younes Sadaghiani with podcaster Liam Tuffs. If you don’t know Liam’s backstory, I recommend you check out the Heretics link below. Let’s just say that there is a reason he’s tough as nails. He also has empathy pouring out of him. The man opposite him, Younes, is from Iran originally. He is Persian (he points out the differences between Persians and Arabs) and used to be a teacher. His problem is that he is too honest but he is such a wonderful speaker about the issues he and others have faced in Iran. You would be a fool to not see the parallels between that and our country, especially in its current state.
Younes tells us about the Shah of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, a sort of patriotic King. His dynasty was overthrown by the Iranian revolution, that was a coalition formed between leftists and Islamists. Then it turned out that the Islamists killed the leftists, including numerous people who had the Communist Manifesto in their homes. This is not a one off example of Islamic aggression but yet another event that occurs when Islamists are given power. Even if you weren’t aware of the Iranian revolution, then it won’t surprise you, that the extreme side has the propensity to win and kill the side of leniency and kindness. Unfortunately, people understand this but align extremism with figures like Donald Trump. I can safely say that although he must toe the line between structure/order versus authoritarianism, he is nothing compared to the Islamists. They don’t call them a death cult, lightly.
What Younes found is that in comparison to Iran, people in the U.K are weak. In general, they tend not to speak their mind, language is littered with caveats and an ingrained sense of tolerance and not wishing to offend. Iranian people are more direct and many who have been through the Islamic revolution have become tough because of the imposed oppression. Genuine oppression imposed by the Ayatollah. Some thought he was giving the country structure but he incrementally proposed rules like women not being able to drive and having to be covered from head to toe.
If you have ever seen the movie Not Without My Daughter, you will see that the depiction of Tehran (Iran’s capital) is not hyperbole. Betty Mahmoody had to have permission to leave Tehran to return to America after she had been misled by her husband who intended to keep her and their daughter there (instead of just visiting family). Betty would lose her daughter if she got his permission to leave so in the end she had to escape. This is a true story. Women are second class citizens in places such as Tehran as much as there are misleading videos stating they are not. There are too many accounts like Betty’s.
As a result of a weak U.K, extremism has risen and Younes found people here, young men in particular, to be more extreme than in Iran. He even went to school with two boys who turned out to be terrorists. They would ask him to pray to Allah with them and then grew up to be men making news headlines as terrorists.
In addition to who knows how many of these men (and women also radicalised) that we have here in the UK, we also have the scandal of the grooming gangs. Younes says that instead of going after the perpetrators and giving them harsher sentences, we then go after messengers like Tommy Robinson. We shoot the messenger and Robinson is a convenient scapegoat. Working class and direct talking, let’s label him the far right aggressor. He is not. I have listened to him and done my research but even if members of his former party EDL were racists, that problem is lesser compared to the crimes of the grooming gangs. The rape, torture and abuse of school age girls at the hands of predominantly Pakistani Muslim men spanned decades, mass numbers and is a problem that is still continuous.
Younes also goes into the nitty gritty of Islam. He should know, he studied the Quran. He says sleeping with minors is systemic within Islam. He speaks out against that as well as speaking out about keeping any religion separate from politics. There is an issue of fundamentalism in all religions but the difference between Islam and other religions is that it has yet to go through a renaissance and enlightenment. Instead of kicking out religious fundamentalism, countries like the UK have enabled the militancy and political power of Islam.
Yousen like The Son Of Hamas (link to him below) is a very clear and direct talker. Both give you the harsh realities and Yousen says that as long as the Islamic republic exists, there will never be peace. That you cannot negotiate with these psychopaths and that your anti war (let’s all love each other- Queers for Palestine) brigade don’t know what they are talking about. In the end, it is not about being pro war, rather being able to defend your country and beliefs against an aggressor like Islam.
I am not a hater or war monger, I just want to know the truth as harsh as it might be. Also Younes who has received criticism for his views of the British empire, is still to be listened to with regard to Islamic rule. They say he must be in government or in politics or even more mainstream. Well, we know how our country is suppressing voices like his, so the best we can do is listen and share.
Thanks for reading.
Many are never content with their lives and seek 'things' to make them better. Bouyed by religion or anger or jealousy they steal or plunder or murder others to eliminate what makes them feel inferior.
It never ends.
Skin color, hair do, religion or gender is enough to set off the fragile among us...there is no end to the nuance of hatred. Tall, short, fat or thin makes no difference and acceptance is volatile and fleeting as values and tastes change.
Romans and Brits have ruled the world and their empires are either lost to history or greatly diminished. The US rattles swords to warn others but that is seen as a challenge by lesser nations.
We can't get along with each other - it is not our nature. We live athwart a world of peace and oppression both dangerously close to extinction and unsympathetic indifference.

Then they came for the Socialists

Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me”
