Acceptance.
New year, new influx of more mental gymnastics. When Steve Laws did that now infamous interview with Andrew Gold, I took note of the many that supported his -England for the English- message. It was similar to when Liam Tuffs interviewed him; also in part offensive but awakening.
Offence is how we get to the issue.
Not all comments will have been from bots or agitators and I do believe the British people are moderates who do not resort to violence and thug tactics. In their heart and mind though, they are fed up of Britain as it is now. Ethnonationalism is a spectrum and I have to say I am getting more and more on the side of the civil EthNat.
What swung it for me was not radicalisation by the so called far right. Rather, it was listening to the mental gymnastics of otherwise common sense individuals not being able to understand simple premises.
There is a discussion on whom we can call English and I find it remarkable to not be able to accept that if one doesn’t have English parents they are not English. In some cases I see this as a deliberate tactic to paint people and parties like Restore-who fight against the erasure of Englishness- as evil. I have found Advance UK’s Ben Habib particularly absurd of late.
Ben, you defend her but it was GB News’ Nana Akua herself who brought up the discussion of English ethnicity with Restore spokesman Charlie Downes. I am fed up of hearing the defensiveness. I want to know about Restore’s policies during these interviews, rather than hearing petty arguments. Let me be clear, I am not calling English ethnicity pathetic but I am fed up of the constant gotcha attempts by Nana and Ben, painting people like Charlie and parties like Restore as racist.
It has gone too far with this petty name calling. “Racist” is bad enough and yes, I know I have used the term myself, though I do so with balance. What I don’t fling around is the term Neo Nazi..I’ll never forgive Laila Cunningham of Reform saying this about Restore and Rupert Lowe. Her glibness and inability to think before speaking has massively put me off her. This is not my choice for future mayor of London.
I am disappointed with ethnic minority patriots. I have seen something in the last two weeks where I have thought that no wonder the indigenous British are thinking we are all a liability. All of us ethnic minorities.
If you are secure in yourself like Candid With Lubna and Nuriyah Khan, two women who don’t get all defensive (I am currently growing out of being defensive), then you will be able to accept English identity and ethnicity for the indigenous. Otherwise, the alternative comes across as massive hypocrisy and cope.
Oh, I know some indigenous Brits won’t take Lubna and Nuriyah seriously, no matter what. I am pretty sure Candid With Lubna could be having chats with people like Carl Benjamin and Connor Tomlinson but I half wonder if they’ve got their back up because because of the likes of Ben Habib and Nana Akua.
I can’t blame them. I would have had enough by now, when it comes to utter, wilful fools.
I was not long ago called out as well (by Jupplandia) and I have to say it did make me wonder, if I was being too defensive. I have to say I actually agree with him though he was a bastard to me in the comment he put, calling my writing bullshit. A dagger to my heart!
I agree with the point that I think he was trying to make. That, mocking or coming across as mocking Restore (a party that wants to protect the indigenous) is no longer going to work. This lack of respect for the indigenous will be called out, in different ways, depending on the person.
I get it.
I also think that say, we have a Restore government in three years time and I lose my right to vote because I am an immigrant, then it’s hardly surprising considering the events of the past decades. That’s different to being beaten up in the streets or whatever but I can understand the lack of trust when it comes to immigrants. Violence against immigrants is extreme, of course it is but looking at what rights they’re allowed to have..is that extreme? Or simply the moderate and the common approach as per other countries?
Yes, I know many indigenous have been traitors as well but Britain has imported more traitors and added to the problem. (No, I don’t align with anyone saying we all deserve to be put in body bags-before a so called civil CivNat comes at me). I just understand why people don’t want to take chances anymore and to an extent, I understand what may be about to come.
I too do not want a containment of chaos. I want firmness, decisiveness and someone who doesn’t care about names to be in charge of the country.
Thanks for reading.

“I also think that say, we have a Restore government in three years time and I lose my right to vote because I am an immigrant..”
They haven’t proposed this. I’m just thinking ahead as in what if.
I enjoyed reading your latest article and I watched the video you linked. My position has always been “I am British not English”. Yes Englishness is an ethnicity and I would never claim something that was never mine. This was my position even before the era of wokeness. I watched the Nana Akua and Charlie Downs discussion. Now I do like Nana but I have to say that this time she was clumsy with her use of terminology. It would have been more interesting if she had asked Charlie if she was British? I think his response would have been very telling and would have shed light on Restores Official Position.
