Harry and Meghan have stated they wanted privacy but by inadvertently and very publicly getting themselves involved in political ideology, they have shown they donβt want privacy but just to be shielded from criticism.β
I would actually correct that by taking the βinadvertentlyβ out of it.
I so much agree. Her staying and acting as princess would have been a step to heal the racial divide. From my perspective the royal family was willing to take that step and she wasnβt. And she married him as a full adult. She had every reason to understand what she was signing up for. Her behavior was very disappointing.
Yes, you raise a good point. I was watching an interview that tried to empathise with Meghan being a modern woman and finding the archaic structure of the royal family a non fit. However, Meghan would have looked them up and researched them, I donβt buy that she didnβt. Also, she has attended many high profile meetings or so she says, so she must know what it is to compromise with an institution.
When she first came on board, I was excited, I thought this is a new era, we have more modern royals, sheβs proved that she was in fact the problem to begin with. At least evidence is tilting that way.
She was 36 when she married him. Heβs a prince. Marrying him would obviously include a lack of privacy, many duties and a burden on potential children, as well as unique privileges for them, but not the right to be βnormal.β
I imagine that Kate understood what was involved and that she believes in the cause, to some extent.
As an American, Harry marrying someone who is American and not British is puzzling and unsettling on its own. Not that he canβt marry who he wants, but thereβs a whole country of women in England.
Yes, the false image of naivety just doesnβt fit the reality. With Kate, I bet it was a journey for her too, although I think personality wise she seems made for the role. She comes across as willing to learn, humble and intelligent. Harry..fell for an image, he rushed in and is now paying the price. I feel itβs just to criticise both Meghan and Harry because they donβt seem to have learned lessons.

Infomative

Harry is also an adult in a relationship he entered into as an adult.
